Discrimination such as between handicapped and normal people and racism still exists in the world nowadays. As

European countries including England and later United States of America experienced the Industrial Revolution after 18th

century, increasing need of plantation labor brought out the African slavery. From then, black and white segregation has been

very big issue, especially in USA. Such discrimination still exists in the world nowadays between black and white or normal

and handicapped people.

             One example of current discrimination is based on the disabilities. In 2001, a man who passed the civil service

examination was fired soon after. His boss later confessed that the dismissal was due to the man's disabilities. This incident

comtemporarily became a hot issue at the time, bringing some civic groups to plan a protest for human rights. Such

disadvantages still remain in the society.

              Racism is another example. Crimes or difficulties relating race still occurs around the world. Hate crime is an action

of terror toward ethnic minorities, specific religions, homosexuals, etc. Ku Klux Klan and Nazist are suitable examples.

Especially in the United States of America, blacks and whites do the hate crimes on each other even nowadays. An 88 years

old man named James Phone Veron fired indiscriminately at the black police officier in the Holocoast Museum in Washington

D.C., USA, on June 10, 2009. He had a twisted view about blacks and Jews.

              The definitnion of discrimination is that the treatment taken toward or against an individual or a group based on a

specific category. It perhaps might disappear someaday, but in the reality still exist various discriminations.
